I think most of the problem with YJ is that there
are cels available in the Japanese market that
you just wont find here in the states. I have bid
high prices on cels in Japan and have been very
satisfied with the cels I have won. However, to
see cels like a recent Mirai Trunks go for 110,000
(or almost $900) is outrageous. I don't the harm
in occasionally buying a cel for the price it
should fetch. Cels from Kiki's Delivery Service,
Totoro and Akira are always going to fetch a
premium. While newer shows are going to have
their rare characters. But as collectors we must
have some culpability in this problem. We must
realize that there is a time when we should just
back off and let the prices correct themselves.
Believe me, when you collect certain shows,
finding deals is not always easy. But I take
pride in knowing that I have never paid more than
a cel is worth to me. |
