As the CPM debate resulted in issues of
discerning "real" cels from the fakes, I also
have a question regarding judging authenticity,
as I am fairly new to this cel world:
Paint thickness--I have seen cels with a thickness
of the smoothest glass, and others that are so...shall
I say..."lumpy" as to be two-dimensional. I had
presumed that the thicker painted cels were fakes. Was
that a correct assumption?
Or would such thickness be the result of someone very
poorly doing touch-up work on the cel?
Would someone kindly tell me...What are the reasons
for these differences?
