Someone might have sweat on it when it was put together
or might just be humidity build up from where it was stored.  
If you leave it it will turn to "age spots" or mildew. I had
moisture inbetween an older setup I bought and I slid a paper 
towel in as far as I could to absorb it. You might want to
fold it over a piece of stiff paper for support and cut it to
fit in the area you're trying to reach, and don't go
near the xeroxed lines. It got rid of the moisture but there were
light white spots where it used to be. If you can't reach it you'll probably
have to leave it and let it do it's damage. The spots are only
noticable on close inspection, the textured glare proof
glass would probably make them undetectable.
