You might want to try cruising around Leicester Square or Covent Garden areas, they seemed to have a lot of specialty stores there.  Also Soho District is the International district for London....^_^  If anything, there's a Japanese bookstore right beside St. Paul's Cathedral *name escaping me...*, They probably would be able to help you.
