The main issue to me is that Deedlit seems to have lost her affection
for Parn. She seemed a bit indifferent (take a look at the party scene in
Ep. 2 or 3 (don't remember exactly) where Deedlit stands
on the side, mentioning something about herself being an elf. It
sounded like she had given up on Parn, but then, I don't know much
Japanese.)

The OVA does have strong key frames. The animation may
not be the best, but the detail in the drawing is quite nice.
Deedlit's facial expressions are different though. In the OVAs
her expressions, at least in my opinion, convey more meaning.
What I mean is that you can draw a character "unhappy", or you
can draw them as if they are "completely fed up with the world".
The latter gives you a better image of what is going on inside
of the character's head. Cels that show a character in a
particular moment with a memorable expression are
naturally nicer. I think the OVA cels show more expression.
I also think they draw her ears just slightly different, and
the way they do the shading on her nose is slightly different too.
Or maybe I'm just imagining things....
