Capitalism and the marketplace (ebay) (Fri Oct 23 22:03:32 1998 )

I just wanted to give my input on the whole ebay and selling cels topic. First off, anyone that complains about how much money anyone else is making is just jealous. Capitalism a great thing. It says very basically "I have this and want to trade it." Someone else comes along and says "I have this I want to trade it for yours" The exchange takes place and everyone is happier in the end.

It appears there are some here who just don't get it. No one is forcing anyone to bid up on cels. No one is cohersing anyone to do anything they do not want to. It is called freedom of choice. If you do not like how much cels are going for, guess what you TOO have an option. Don't go to ebay and don't come here and whine about it.

These people who put up cels and other merchandise on ebay do a GREAT service. They are allowing people to bid on items they wouldn't otherwise have the chance to or that do not know about other places to buy it. So, if people want to spend a gamillion dollars on the cel, don't yell at the seller. They didn't do anything wrong, nor are those who
are willing to spend a gamillion dollars of their own money.

Long story short, don't whine about capitalism, or the marketplace, it always takes care of its self. If you are crabby about people spending a lot on cels, and you aren't making the money then put some up on ebay. If you are grumpy that people pay to much for cels, don't go to ebay. It isn't your job to save the world from spending as much as they want on cels, so stop acting like it is.

Smile, remember that life is good and anime makes it that much better!

Stepping off my soap box
