It's in cel collecting as it's in the rest of life...
it's not what you know, it's who you know.  A lot of time
it doesn't seem fair, but we all basically play by the
same rules.  As long as you're not lying, cheating, or
stealing to get cels (a few people, of course, do), you're
competing fairly.

Of course, we don't all start on a level playing field.
Some people have more money.  You just have to work harder 
than them.  There will always be collectors richer, smarter,
or more well-connected than you, but it's amazing how much
hard work can compensate.  If you work 8-16 hours a day
looking for KOR cels, for example, you will find some.  ^_^
Of course, if you're working 15 hours a day to support your
wife and kids, things aren't fair for you.  But, then, you
probably shouldn't be spending your money on cels anyway.

If your worry is about connections, perhaps you're going 
about it the wrong way.  My secret is the golden rule: 
do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  If 
I expect folks to sell me their cels, I must willing to give
up my own.  If I expect people to help me with connections,  
I must be generous with my own information.  If someone
comes to me--it doesn't matter who they are, what they
have or who they know--the golden rule compels me to treat
them with respect and generosity, because that's how I
want to be treated myself.

Of course, you're going to run into lots of ungrateful
people.  It's aggravating when someone asks you for help,
you give it to them, but then they don't bother to send
a word of thanks.  However, for all the ungrateful 
folks out there, there are just as many goodhearted ones
who will remember your kindness and return the favor in
spades some day.
