I have never been to Animazment, so I really don't know how
the attendence for that convention is.  But I do go to Anime Expo
regularly where the attendence is tromendous.
The reason I am posting this is that at AX they have a lottery
as to whom gets an autograph from the guests of honor. Tickets 
were only given out at the opening cerimony or at the panel that
the guests were present at. I don't remember how many people were 
chosen to have autographs, but it did save the time-wasting of 
waiting in line, not knowing wheather you are going to get an 
autograph or not.  
Reminds me of a Star Trek convention I went to where people lined
up for a good mile (yes this is true!) to get an autograph from
James Doohan (Scotty). I calculated that it would have taken him 
about two weeks of constant signing without a rest if he had 
actually signed for everyone in line.
