Cels Forum

The TV cels in general go for considerably less than their
OVA counterparts.  Part is due to age, as the OVA series
was done almost 10 years ago.  Madhouse was the studio that
produced it, which is in large part why the animation quality
was so good. Cels from shows that are done by Madhouse go
for higher prices for the most part.

Also, and probably more important was that the character
designs were not done by Nobutery Yuuki (nor did he have
anything to do with the TV series), which contributes
heavily to why OVA cels are expensive.  He has a very large
following of collectors, in Japan and the US, which makes
his cels heavily in demand.  If you look at all the other
shows he's done designs for or worked on they are all
expensive cels (Lodoss Wars OVA, Battle Angel, Weathering
Continent, Five Star Stories, Escaflowne, X 1999, etc..)
