I don't think warped faces can be called "SD"-- maybe they
should just say deformed??.  I take SD to mean extremely
exaggerated proportions-- huge head, tiny body-- like all
those SD Gundam BB toys.  Usually something is called SD if
there is a "regular", more realistic version of it.  And
just having a big head doesn't really count, since
many "normal" characters already have somewhat oversized
heads.  SDs should be WAY oversized.

Chibi is not totally synonymous with SD either since it is
used to mean other things, like Chibi Moon or the Chibi
Totoro, which are not "super-deformed".  I think chibi just
means "small" with endearing or childlike qualities implied
(cute and small).  Is this helpful?
