Ahhh, thanks.  I began to suspect that might be 
it, just from the context it was being used in.  
But I'm often wrong when I guess.  It's why I 
don't gamble that often.

As for why people don't use english, I suspect its 
some sort of "wow! I know the japanese word for 
this!" pride thing.  or a means of excluding 
outsiders, ala teenage slang.  But I'm guessing 
the former, cause most anime fans type (IMHO) are 
nicer than that....
