Yup, What's Micheal was made into an anime 
series. The director -- don't remember his name, 
but I have it in a magazine somewhere -- said 
that he was dissapointed that it didn't do as 
well as he had hoped. 
I haven't seen the series myself -- saw some 
bootleg tapes in Chinatown -- but the cel does 
look like the character design from the box.
