I doubt this person actually makes the mousepads
in advance, he just checks to see what images sell
and then he makes them.  That's why there's a 
relatively long processing time on them.  I wonder
if he crops better for the actual mousepad.  I 
still don't see how such a small image could be 
made into a decent one.

It is shameful that someone is basically making
_any_ bootleg merchandise.  This isn't the only
one, there are stickers, label, window decals,
magnets.  The strangest thing I ever saw was a
"repro cel."I emailed the buyer and she said she
had a couple of them all given as gifts and that
they were basically someone's cel image printed on
glossy paper.  Sadly, many people don't realize it
is bootleg merchandise.

Image stealing has always been a problem and the
best thing anyone has come up with is marking 
images with email addresses or other forms of 
identification.  After all, you can still keep a
clean version and give it to non-profiteers for
use if they ask.  I just try not to worry about it
too much and hope one day the companies can do
something.
