You shouldn't have to scroll if your sceen
resolution is 800x600 or more. It's not fitting
on a 640x480 screen size but not my much.
I try to do pages that work for nearly everybody
but there is some limits (It broke my heart
to use codes not from HTML 1.0 :) and 600x800
is realy the minimum everybody should use.
(If you still have a 14 inch screen, make yourself
a big favour : get at least a 15 inch... if they
still can be found. It's not just a question
of size but refresh rate : they are very very
bad for your eyes and give headach)

As for the quantity of graphic : There was 2
before for the header. No there is 4 but they
are much smaller in size. There is one more
for the background on the left. After you
downloaded them once, they should stay in
your cache and won't be downloaded again.
In all, I would say that the total document
is around the same as before or even smaller...
