Hmmm... I think the time ever comes for
cels to become
 obsolete (and the prices SOAR out of control due to that.)
I think that is when I am going to enjoy the cels I have 
that much more and stop collecting all together.

Sketches are nice to look at, but nothing
beats the vibrant colors, texture (and smell ^_~)
of a painted cel.  

Just my personal opinion, of course. ^_~
