If you are looking for an explanation, umm, he 
doesn't have one. Here's what he wrote to me after 
I asking him if he understood those were not 
production cels:

Well I just found out a little while ago.  You see 
I got them form a friend you bought them in  a 
package deal.  He thought they were a good deal. 
We never knew that much about them but they were 
signed in the bottem corner by some but we didn't  
know who.  Than I saw this one on ebay and it was
on I had and it sold for 3000 dollars and that when 
it all started to go wrong and you know the rest.  
But my ebay guy wes restricted.

I don't know quite what he's saying, but it sounds 
like he didn't buy the repros directly from the 
artist. Did he really not know they weren't 
production cels? Who knows. If he didn't understand 
what the signature meant, then I *suppose* it's 
possible. Well, just thought I'd let the people who 
were still interested hear what he had to say.
