I think it looks pretty cool and I have to admit
it took me a sec to figure out what was happening.
:)  It looks like a lot of work, but if you've got
the will, I would go for it.  I enjoy seeing the
cel and then seeing how it appeared in the 
animation, especially when they have special 
effects like the one of Tenchi w/the sword.  Were
your caps off of the DVDs?  What prog did you use
to capture them?  I use Hypersnap DX myself and it
works wonderfully.  Anyways, that's my input. :)
