Rurouni kenshin has a tv series and OAVS...(OAVS 
KICK MAJOR ASS!!!!!!) the oavs are his past and how 
he got the cross marks in his face and the tv 
series is just one big long story AFTER so he 
travels around "saving" people to make up for being 
the battousai....

Is this what you are talking about? (samura x is 
the dubbed version of the oavs)
