Something I've noticed is that characters who show
up a lot and always have wings are not as popular
as characters who don't always have wings (and of
course, rarer characters with wings... but they're
rare to begin with!)  For instance, Sailormoon and
Escaflowne have characters who don't always have
wings, however, I would expect them to be
popular.  Still, Tenshi ni Narumon!, where there
are characters who don't always have wings, seems
popular for people to collect these days, many
whom have never seen the show and don't know the
character's names!  Then, Dota from Bakuretsu
Hunters and Sizer from Violinist of Hameln are no
where near as sought after.  I guess people not
only like wings, but prefer them to be rare.  I'm
sure there are exceptions though.
