Why My Auctions Were Cancelled (Thu Mar 1 20:07:31 2001 )
Misa

^_^;;

This is the stupidest thing, but... they
cancelled them because I put a link to the
Doujinshi Mailing list in my doujinshi auctions,
and the Cards and Shitajiki mailing lists in my
card and shitajiki auctions.

I thought it would be a good way to get the word
out about the mailing lists so that we had more
people to trade with (especially on the Cards
mailing list side). I have been putting these
links in my auctions for more than 6 months.

Well, eBay said I was "stealing user information"
and "violating eBay's privacy clause" by "forcing
people to sign up for my mailing list".

I was like... huh? It's Yahoo Groups (eGroups)
for goodness sake. No one can force you to join
that, click on the link and it says "do you want
to join?" you have a choice. It's not like I was
freaking taking all my bidders' names and forcing
them to sign up.

Secondly, they ended my auctions because I had
the following in my auctions:
"PayPal: We do accept PayPal, but it's not our
favorite method as it ends up costing both you
and I extra fees."

They accused me of trying to charge people fees
for using PayPal. NOTHING in my statement says
that, in fact we purposfully STOPPED doing that
after our last round of auctions and changed the
wording so that it said the above which meant
that we didn't like PayPal and we don't want to
use it because WE end up paying fees to PAYPAL
and the buyers do too when they sell something
(fees to PAYPAL! not me!)

God I am so pissed -_-

Because of this, I couldn't keep bidding on two
cels I really wanted on YJ because there was no
way I would have enough money in time to pay for
them ;_;
