Seriously.  Am I the only one who sometimes is 
actually -happy- to be outbid on an auction?  (I 
am of course referring to Kamidake no Miko's 
gorgeous larva n scythe cel that just ended on 
ebay. Sooo nice!)  Larva with the scythe has been 
a wishlist item of mine for some time, and if I 
hadn't bid, I would have been kicking myself 
forever for not getting it.  But at the same 
time.. if I had won it, I would've had next to no 
money for Animazement this weekend (between 
dipping into con funds this week for a cel that 
had to be one of the top 3 on my wishlist, as 
well as getting laid off my new job after only 
one day of work! grrr..)
  I just never feel as bad about losing out on a 
cel during an auction, because I can always tell 
myself "I just wasn't willing to pay that much.  
If I'd truly wanted it that bad, I could have bid 
more and bought it."   (Granted that would 
sometimes mean selling off cels I have, but I've 
yet to bid on a cel that had a net worth of more 
than my collection..)
Then again maybe I'm just still just on a happy-
high from getting that other cel this week.  
(Though geez if the Buffy and Dark Angel season 
finales weren't enough to get to ya I dunno what 
is! But I digress.)
So what say you?  Am I crazy?  Does this make 
sense? Am I just really good at lying to 
myself? ;-)
