Did not realize how different things were done in the 70's with cel production (Fri Jun 22 04:48:39 2001 )

Finally getting a chance to scan some cels in and
got the chance to scan the new go go lion (Volton)
cels. What was rather interesting was that the
matching sketch came with one of them and was
amazed at a couple of things that were present on
it.

First, I think there was about 7 colors used for
all the lions (highlights on one lion were the
main colors of another lion).

Second, black was not painted, it was instead
transfered from the sketch.

Third, I amazed at how few cels were used in a
sequence.

Fourth, the amount of airbrushing directly on the
cels is extreme (probably representive of the fact
that only a few cels were used in a sequence).

If anyone else has experience with some of the
older seventy cels that are similar or different
from what is apparent on these one's, please let
me know.

Marcus

PS If anyone has a blue or red lion cel they are
willing to part with, I need those two to complete
the set.
