Hypothetical Question Answered (Fri Apr 13 21:21:14 2001 )

I personally don't appreciate people swiping
scans of my cels.. First, of course, I spent a
good bit of money on the cel. ^_^;; But mostly,
it's the same as any other image-stealing.
People work hard to get the sources for images,
scan and frequently edit the images.. It's not
nice to steal. Of course, if they make a
screencap of the scene, themselves, more power to
ém. The cel itself may be mine, but the scene--
most certainly not.

Slightly different situation that I've actually
had occur: A person "borrowed" images of cels
from sites like Anime Chaos and Noriko's, and
used them on her site. I bought those very
cels. (I'd assume she took the images well
before I got the cels, but only saw her site many
months after I got them.) She didn't take the
images I'd scanned, yet I found myself a bit
annoyed, even so. In the end, though, I didn't
say a darned thing. I *like* the site they're
on, and while I don't agree with stealing images
of cels, even ones that haven't been purchased
yet, I figure it's not a big enough deal to
bother with. Anyone have any comments/feelings
on this type of situation? What would other
folks do about something like that? I've often
wondered if I'm being too harsh even caring.
