Mineral oil is actually paint thinner. (At least 
the mineral oil we used in my art class) We 
used it to thin oil based paints and pastels. 
I've read quite a few suggestions on this 
forum recommending mineral oil for cleaning 
and always flinch a little when I come across 
them. Personally, I would never get up the 
nerve to use it...or have it anywhere near my 
cels. If I'm thinking of something different than 
what you use TK please correct me. I've asked 
at the art store and my professor if there is 
more than one kind of mineral oil, and both 
answers were no.  Anyway, just want to 
caution people that if you go to the art store 
and ask for mineral oil, and it smells harsh 
like paint thinner....then it is paint thinner. Just 
be careful!!!
