I thought I posted a summary regarding the 
Mandarake auction here, but can't seem to find it 
in the search engine. Here's a quick summary.

In addition to the hanken, I won a few cels from 
Tonari no Totoro, Ah My Goddess, and even got a 
Pokemon pan cel (it was for a gift ;P).

I didn't know the TM was a hanken until the 
auctioneer announced it at bid time. I had liked 
the cel before I knew it was a hanken, but that 
pretty much clinched it for me. I'll send you an 
email re the details. It wasn't that high for the 
reasons below. 

Fortunately, there were relatively few bidders 
there. It seems the hype and high starting bids 
scared off many serious collectors, so most came 
just to watch. If I hadn't already set up my 
vacation and plane tix, I probably would have 
backed out too. 

This left many of the cels to a relatively small 
number of bidders even though there are quite a 
few people in attendance. With so few cels and 
high starting prices, you'd have many cels at bid 
price to make it worthwhile. As it turns out, 
that's exactly what happened in many cases.
