I snagged a Zelgadis cel (yeah, what else? I 
actually DO own cels of other characters...) on a 
buy it now from ebay in spite of a terrible scan, 
because it was an A-1 and a fabulous pose of a 
snarling Zel.

Got the thing only to discover that part of the 
reason the scan was so bad was that the lines 
were basically gone.  The seller obviously had no 
clue about this reducing the cel's value, based 
on the fun notes we exchanged and the note 
included with the cel when it arrived.  

I obviously was crushed -- for a moment -- then 
decided what the heck? I could never resell the 
thing, and I love Zelgadis... so I broke out the 
implements of destruction and restored the 
lines.  So much for the archival value of the 
cel, but it has value to me, and that's what 
counts IMHO.
