Hi everyone,

Well I had a shock this morning waiting for me in
my mailbox! It was a letter from eBay telling me
that my link to my site which said "We have
Cards, Cels, trading cards, and more!" on
my "About Me" page was illegal in eBay terms.

Of course they were alerted by some
lovely "Community Watch" member. I guess some
people have nothing better to do than keep up
with ebay's "change every 10 minutes" rules and
rat out on people who probably don't even know
they are doing something "against the rules"
because they have lives to live and don't need to
keep up-to-date every two freaking seconds. Sigh
-_-#. (sorry that will by my only rant I hope)

I know a lot of us figured since eBay was banning
links to our sites and our other goods in our
auctions that we could put this information on
our "About Me" pages.

Apparently not.

eBay does not want you promoting the fact that
you have anything else for sale, anywhere.

I am guessing that the next thing they are going
to ding me for is having an e-mail on my About Me
page ... I mean they want to be able to read all
our email to make sure we aren't directly selling
y'know.

It's really sad -_- because I ~know~ that eBay is
doing this because they want to make the maximum
profit, so I can understand where they are coming
from. However, it's still frustrating that they
have to be so completely against selling anything
in any other way.

So, I just wanted to warn you all, as they DID
say they were going to suspend my account if I
didn't remove my 1 line of text (not even a
graphic) from my About Me page.

They didn't comment on my graphic (with a link to
my site) so I left it (I will let you all know if
they complain about it too) and I also just
changed my link to say "Please check out our
website: Go Here! ^_^"

I also left the e-mail address up there. I guess
I will just have to wait and see.

For those of you who don't know what an "About
Me" page is, it's a way of listing your auctions
without having that super-dooper hideously long
URL. You can usually list your auctions, recent
feedback, and a few links and a graphic. It seems
that these links are now going to be controlled.

Here's my page:

Just FYI,
misa
