What’s Rubberslug? It’s a resource for anime cel
collectors. The big part is that you can make a
free cel gallery using our nifty page creation
tools. Already have a cel gallery? Check out the
Resources section for a list of CG Anime and
Collecting Guides. My apologies for this post in
two parts, but I didn’t want to post a gigantic
message with all of the updates, so I split them
into New Resources and New Gallery Features.

New Resources:

CG
Anime Database – a simple member-updated
database that keeps track of everything in the
past 5 years that has any computer-generated (CG)
elements in it. Want to know if cels are
available from your new favorite show? Check here
first. Or, if you’re an anime whiz, help us fill
out the blank spots. Special thanks to
Shadowlight who filled out most of what’s already
there.

Collecti
ng Guides – guides to collecting specific
shows/franchises. Right now, there aren’t any
guides. (*sniff*) I put up a sample one based on
a fictional show to give you an idea of what
happens when you make a guide. To all the
veterans out there: your experiences in
collecting may come in helpful to all the new
people to our exciting hobby. In exchance for
writing a short guide, I can offer to put a
favorite cel or two into rotation on the picture
on the home page, complete with a link to your
web page, whether or not it is on Rubberslug. I’m
going to take down all the commercial anime
clipart I have in rotation there after I get a
few people who would like to display their cels
on the Rubberslug home page.

A big question for the collecting guides right
now is, “can I use images in my guide?” You may,
but right now I don’t have it so that you can
upload images. I hope to be able to program a
slideshow type feature for the guides so that
guide writers can use visual aids.

That’s it for resources for now. Hope you find
some of this useful.

Question? Comment? Feature suggestion? (I love
these in particular!) Send feedback to noisywal
rus@mail.utexas.edu instead of
jason@orchidflux.com as usual since we’re having
some technical difficulties right now…..
