Ebay is an American auction site and conducts 
business in English.  If the auction you bid on 
was in English and it did not specificly say that 
business must be conducted in Japanese, then 
just write them a note in English and tell  them 
you don't read Japanese and since the auction 
was in English, you would like to correspond 
with them in English.
