I am a cel collector in Tokyo, and I often visit 
anime cel shops. In spite of Eva original cels 
have been hold by the production. I have 
watched over 20 original cels, however. I know 
some cels were present items when Eva 
Laser Disk was sold. Others may be gifted to 
the participants or stolen by bad staffs. 
Ayanami cels are too expensive (one was 
$4,000 and the other $8,000), and I have not 
met such cels at the shops in Tokyo but at an 
online shop (a Japan corporation) in US. I 
have heard the cels stolen by bad staffs are 
often sold in overseas countries. Why do the 
staffs steal the cels? Their salary is too cheap 
though their work is hard.
