and speaking for myself if offered a considerably
high amount of money CASH even for one cel or my
whole collection, personally I'd give serious
consideration to any offer that would allow me to
earn a double return or higher. Sorry Earl its
most unrealistic of you to say you'd never sell
off your NFS cels or that momo is a bitter
collector b/c they couldn't get cels she wanted,
she raises a very valid point. ALOT of things in
life are for sale, that is a reality but that is
partly why larger collectors got great
collections its because they are willing to shell
out the big bucks and make the sellers in Japan
an offer they'd be very tempted to take and quite
foolish to ignore. Remember cels do not have any
intrinsic value they don't age well like wine or
art and there is a very small market.

Also I don't know how old you might be but many
people who do collect cels are by and large young
below 35 years of age and without financial
dependants (kids or sick parents), do you
honestly think people including yourself won't
reconsider selling once beloved cels IF they
received a very good offer that might not exist
years from now when they are faced with growing
financial burdens? Unless you collect Miyazaki
cels most TV and OVA series with few exceptions
(GUNNM OVAs, GunBuster OVAs, BGC OVAs, Macross
DYRL, Lodoss OVAs) don't maintain their value and
certainly do not increase in value. As such they
depreciate with the passage of time, something
many collectors don't wish to acknowledge, myself
included.

More importantly people DO incur debts and there
are financial considerations that increase and
change for nearly everyone as they get older.
Planning for a marriage, purchasing a house/car,
saving for children, dealing with aging parents
etc. I for one know I will be incurring more
debts ie saving for my j.d. and the need to
increase my savings will be paramount as I reach
my 30s and 40s. Very few things I have wouldn't
find their way to other people collections or
evilbay for that matter but maybe this is just me.

In any event don't be so harsh on someone just
b/c they think differently it isn't as if they
are directly attacking you, at most they might be
addressing your comments and not you. ^_^
