I can only comment on One Piece (one of the
greatest shows currently on tv in Japan!) It's
one of the few shows I go out of my way to make
sure I watch. Muah hah hah! They took Ace's
couple of chapters and extended his appearance in
the series to several episodes. Gratuitous, but
I like it. ^_^ Uh, anyway. . .

To the best of my knowledge, there are no cels
for the tv series. Toei does make and sell
reproduction cels. I'd include a link directly
to the page, but it seems to be down right now.
You can always check back later http://www.toei-
anim.co.jp/shop/cell/index00.html

WAY back a couple of years ago before the tv
series began, Jump manga produced a half hour One
Piece video (and some other titles, including
Hunter x Hunter - if you see Kurapica with orange
hair you know it's from the promo video) that was
created with cels. But I've never seen any of
those cels for sale or in a gallery (I have seen
at least one HxH cel from the promo video in a
gallery, but don't remember where).

evilminion: The first movie is the one dvd I
haven't bought yet. Did they really state that
they used cels for the movie? That's weird. I
thought Toei had completely weaned themselves
from cels by that point. I'm pretty certain that
the movie from last year (Nejimakijima no Bouken,
incl. Jango's Dance Carnival) and the new movie
coming out this year (Chopper/Tyopper Kingdom)
are completely CG. There's a really interesting
section about the creation of Jango's Dance
Carnival on the DVD for the second movie - I
recommend it.

Jennifer - who keeps wanting to buy repro cels
but can't justify it when "real" cels keep
popping up. I figure I have a better chance of
finding another copy of a repro than finding
another cel in the same sequence for most of the
stuff I collect. ^_^
