You hit the nail on the head when you said that 
checking frequently at odd times is inconvenient. 
 Darn tootin'.  Do you think that the people who 
catch the updates all the time are ones who do so 
casually???  Nope.  People get good cels because 
they TRY harder (and get lucky).  The more you 
search, the more people you talk to, and the more 
often you scour the internet, the more likely you 
are to obtain better cels at better prices.

The ridiculous thing about saying someone has a 
disadvantage in catching updates is the timing of 
the updates themselves.  If every cel dealer was 
in New York and updated at 7AM EST, I would be 
screwed.  But many cel dealers update in the 
evening, when PST people have the advantage.  And 
lots of cel dealers are ON THE WEST COAST!!!  So 
there's no disadvantage there, either.  And I 
still have yet to hear how the 16 hour time 
difference with Japan puts us PST people at a 
disadvantage.   LOL!
