Re: To use Auction Stealer Or not T use Auction Stealer (Sun Dec 30 14:54:21 2001 )

For the same reason that I've refused to verify a
bank account with Paypal, I would be leery to
enter all my bidding IDs and passwords into a
single database. No matter how well protected,
all those IDs and passwords in one place is like
leaving a $100 bill on a car's front seat - it's
begging someone to break in to get them.

That aside, I can see how something like Auction
Stealer could help some people keep to their
budget. I hear of a lot of people who claim they
get "caught up in the moment" and overspend. Me,
I would rather be the one watching the end of an
auction in which I have great interest. Usually,
that can be arranged in some way.

Now for their claim of "wins more auctions", well
I don't know about that. In my experience, the
thing that wins the most auctions is *deep
pockets*. I do think it would help avoid annoying
bid walkers. . . but true bid walkers really
don't seem all *that* common.

Many Sharp Smiles,
