A new Canon one.. the slim one taht has a USB 
port.  I used to have a UMAX one that connected 
through a parallel port.

I have to say speed wise a USB is the bizness!!  
The new one was real easy to install.  I also 
have to say that UMAX have very poor customer 
support.

Scans witht he canon one are so much sexier 
too!!  Tho the UMAX did do a better job at 
sketches.  The Canon cannot seem to scan sketches 
well unless you toggle the settings later & the 
best i could do was make lines show up well 
rather than have an accurate scan.  Also in one 
of my saint seiya cels it cannot seem to pick up 
light pink.. it turns out white.  That is the 
only cel i have had a problem with.

Also the canon one is a great buy as it has a 
palstic scan so u can stand the scanner on it's 
side.. saving lots of space if that is a 
consideration.
