think a plain forum is good.  I've never had 
trouble finding new messages, unless they're part 
of a fight thread, but I usually dont pause to 
read those posts anyways.  Icons just freak me 
out..  Like Chaos's forum...well, that's 
different tho, sometimes the icons are over there 
are quite amusing m(+.+)m
