Let's say you're using Photoshop to scale down 
these images.  First, make sure it's in RGB mode, 
not indexed color mode.  If you shrink down the 
image in indexed color mode, the image will look 
grainy because it only uses 256 colors instead of 
16.7 million colors (RGB).
