For those interested. . . The final result of unsticking the Akiko sketch. . . (Mon Apr 15 06:34:27 2002 )

On the one hand, I wish it had come through with
less damage. . . On the other hand, I originally
thought I'd eventaully have to resort to just
shredding it off. Which I didn't need to do. ^_^

Freezing the cel helped a little at first since
it gave me the tiniest bit of room to get my
Swiss Amry knife between the cel and sketch to
cut it free. I had to refreeze it three times,
getting closer to the center with each try. But
finally, the very middle of it (from about her
chin to halfway under the jewel on the chest of
her outfit) was just TOO stuck for even that to
work.

But by then the stuck area was small enough to
work it off with the "water trick" and not worry
about wrinkling it. I had to literally *scrape*
the sketch off with my knife. o_0;; Even with the
water, that center part still would *not* come
free on it's own.

Overall, I'm pleased with the result. ^_^ It's
very damaged, but it's better than losing the
sketch completely. ^_^ And the facial/hair area
(the part with the most detail) was the part that
was damaged the least. ^_^

Many Sharp Smiles,
