I really wouldn't know either :)   I'm just 
posing this as a thought thing.  I was wondering 
about it earlier ... but I guess here would be my 
answer--based on how I am now-- who knows, I may 
change:

I would always check with the person who gave me 
a gift item before I sold it first.  But, now 
that I think about it... how many people do you 
guys know who take other gift items back to 
exchange at stores during the holiday season? 
o_o;;  So, maybe it's an extension of that.. 
except you can't really take a cel to a store and 
tell them, "I got this as a gift, but it doesn't 
really fit.. so I'd really like to change it" .. 
so maybe selling it *is* a good way to get rid of 
it without letting the person who gave it to you 
know that you didn't like it...  

But then, .. there's this idea that the gifter 
really liked it .. so maybe they wouldn't be 
*that* hurt and would be happy to get it...  I 
honestly don't know o_o;;
