I usually love series that have darker 
backgrounds so I would suggest Vampire Hunter D 
bloodlust though I don't know if that would 
qualify as cute :)  I still love lodoss ova 
artwork it just has a timeless style to it 
especially some scenes with lighting effects I 
forget but someone has the cel of Deedlit on the 
couch when Parn gives her the rose and the 
lighting and the cel itself are just beautiful.
