| Yusaku Godai is a "ronin", a student unable to go straight from high school to college. That means he gets to take time off to study, re-attempting the entrance eam when it comes around again in another year. Godai's now staring at his second year as a "ronin", and he'd better get in soon or else, Exam season's coming up, and things wouldn't be so bad if he could just get some studying done, but the other residents of the run-down boarding house Maison Ikkoku seem hell-bent on making sure the only place he ever qualifies for is vocational school. Kyoko Otonashi, Maison Ikkoku's occasionally melancholy new manager, is the only one who seems to believe in him, and her words of encouragement as he sets out for each day's round of exams mean everything. With Kyoko on his side, maybe the "ronin" won't be so blue after all. |
