If you send money to a particular dealer(s) in Japan on a 
semi-regular basis you might want to look into what's
called a "repetitive wire transfer" or "telephone
wire transfer."  You get to phone in your wire transfers,
and the rates and fees are usually better.  I know
Wells Fargo Bank here in California and Bank of America
offer these.

As for how good the rates are, I'm not sure as I've just
applied for a repetitive wire transfer and have yet to
use it.   (The application is free.)
