About 2 years ago I purchased a cel that had this done to
it(the image cut out and pasted onto another cel).  At
first I didn't understand either what was up.  What struck
me totally weird was that the cel it was pasted onto had 
the timing marks on it and everything.  What I found was that
sometimes when the cel gets damaged during production the
studio will cut the cel image out of the original one and
paste it on the new cel.  And use it in the production.  
Someone else's post just reminded me of that.  The one I
have is really well done, unless you take the cel out of
the bag you don't even notice it.
