         there was also a cartoon I saw when little that was based
         on the Little Mermaid where she actually turns into seafoam
         in the end - my sister and I both cried our eyes out over that
         one.


I remember that film! I still have the tape of that, I need to check the 
studio, since at the time I saw it, the art reminded me a little bit
like "Last Unicorn"

Plush, the chashing waves at the beginning are also shown at the 
beginning of "Like the Clouds, Like the Wind"
