 I don't know, I last watched Flight of Dragons a year or 
two ago, and I still liked it. Love that opening song. I
thought the characters rather nice and enjoyed the plot. 
A world where only the magic of evil can coexist with
science - rather appropriate, I think. And I love the plot
point that magic still exists, hidden from mortal eye, 
because we need it, even if we don't recognize that fact.
Have to agree with you on the actors and some of the 
dialogue, though. That last confrontation between Peter and
the Red Wizard is great fun, however. 
 And yes, Flight of Dragons was based on a book of the same
name, though the book was nothing like the animation. The
book was basically a conjecture on how dragons might have
once existed, their physiology, evolution, and possible
life cycle. Authored, of course, by Peter Dickinson. :) An
amusing and fanciful read.
