I am sure you will agree, will you not, that it does not matter
how rich or influential or restrictive eBay might be, but that cheating
is still cheating and is such, wrong?

If one doesn't like eBay's terms of service, then one doesn't have to use
eBay. They throw the party, they can set the house rules. Contacting
bidders that one finds through perusal of eBay auctions is no different than
if someone compiled a list of your buyers and contacted them offering similar
merchandise - would you hand over a customer list to a competitor for this
purpose? If not, then why should eBay? Simply because it's an open forum does
not change the nature of the information.

I wouldn't blame you in the least if you made the decision to prohibit advertising of
eBay auctions on your forum since eBay is, in a sense, your competitor. I don't see why
it is considered unethical or "greedy" (since that was the implication) of eBay to do
the same.

No, I do not work for eBay nor am I a shareholder. Yes, I sell items via eBay. Yes,
sometimes I find their services restrictive and their policies downright whimsical at
times. I do, however, know that cheating is wrong. "Fake" auctions for advertising
purposes is against eBay's TOS.

And don't feel so bad about your ISP registry. Internic charges $75 for two years, so
.ch domains still have it on the cheap.
