Although I am sure the question in shaun's recent posting
"Does anyone know who recently bought ..." was not
intended to upset, it raised concerns in my mind.
I believe requests for the purchaser himself or herself to
identify themselves to someone so that another trade/sale
might be done is appropriate. But requests for others to
identify the purchaser to a third party seem outrageous to me.
Again, in circumstances in which I would know the purchaser,
I would tell the purchaser about the request but would leave
it to the purchaser to decide whether to reveal themselves to
the requestor.
As always, I believe it is an individual purchaser's right
to choose not to respond at all.
I see this as a matter of courtesy to all. |
