The two main characters from fushigi yugi are Miaka and
Tamahome. A cel of them together can be hard to find but
I can't imagine any FY fan not liking a cel of them- I
mean, it is ultimately a love story about these two.

Other good characters are probably some of the ones
mentioned, Miaka's other seishi. The most popular ones
are: (Tamahome [my fave-bluegreen hair, purple eyes],
Hotohori [long brown hair], Noriko [purple hair, pink
eyes, usually looks like a girl], and Tasuki [orange hair
and gold or purple eyes {I have seen cels with both}].
Be aware though, there was a t.v. series and 2 oav's.
Most cels available are from oav, so chances are if she
hasn't seen oav and you get her a cel, she won't find
it in any of the episodes from the TV series. The
artwork from the OAVs is very good, but the character
designs and outfits are slightly different.
