Sakura Taisen

Oh, good, I thought the high prices and lack of 
availability was just 'cause the game/OAV is insanely popular
in Japan.  Cool, now I know there's not some weird storehouse
of SW cels hanging out someplace where stateside buyers can't
get to them.  Must be the Sega connection, which if I'm not
mistaken is also why Nadesico is on the list of anime with
no official cel release.

The list mentioned is a good one, but could use updating, 
especially in light of Toei's recent switch to all-digital
production and the weird escape of a bunch of AIC cels with
the matching sketches.  

Could just be the old availability/popularity combo, but has
anyone noticed that cels from the same studio but different
shows (Card Captor Sakura and Trigun, for example, or Tenchi
and Battle Athletes) tend to fall in the same price ranges?
