So I went through my cel scans counting males vs females.
My first problem was with cels that had *both*, and then
cels that had something with fur instead of a human. (Ulp!
What does *THAT* say about me? *laughing hard*) I came up
with:

53% males only cels
26% females only cels
17% cels with both males and females
4% non-human cels (Ura, Shiini, Ryo-Ohki, and Ken-ohki ^_^)

Of the cels with both males and females in them, 54% were
bought for both he males and females, 31% were bought for
the females, and 15% were bought for the males.

On the other hand. . . Something to consider (which was
mentioned by someone else) is that my females only
percentage would be higher if the female characters I liked
weren't so tough to get (either by rarity or price) - the
Goddesses from Ah My Goddess, the Marionettes and Saber
Dolls from Saber Marionette J, and Shampoo from Ranma 1/2.
As a matter of fact, if the girls weren't so tough to get,
they'd be running neck to neck with the boys in my
collection.

Hmmm. . . Ladies, I think we have to do something about all
these guys snatching up all the cels of girls that we
want!! (*grin*)
